Prospective job seekers applying for vacant positions within the Western Highlands Provincial Health Authority (WHPHA) have been urged not to pay any staff member who promises to give them a job.
This practice would be legally and morally wrong and any job seeker who pays some-one to get a job risks losing his or her money.
Acting Chief Executive Officer of the WHPHA, Mr. David Vorst said all vacancies within the WHPHA are usually advertised through the newspapers and applicants get selected through their own merits and not through bribery.
He said this in response to reports that some staff members had been telling job seekers to pay them money in exchange for jobs.
Mr. Vorst said if anyone is charged for submitting an application for a vacancy, he or she should report that person to the Hospital Manager or the Chief Executive Officer forthwith so that the particular officer could be dealt with to end such practices.
